The Eurecat<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0technology centre (a member of Tecnio) is to trial the use of drones for monitoring vineyards<\/strong>, as part of the AgROBOfood<\/strong> Digital Innovation Hub initiative. AgROBOfood is a new European network designed to foster the sharing of information, infrastructure and best practice, with the aim of promoting the effective adoption of robotic technologies in the agri-food industry and thereby increasing its levels of productivity<\/strong> and sustainability<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In line with the initiative, Eurecat is planning to test a system that will supply processable data obtained via the drone-based monitoring of vineyards. The aim is to develop computer software that is capable of combining data from aerial and land-based robotic platforms and to provide winemakers with a user-friendly system that enables them to visualize and manage the information.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe purpose of this pilot test is to enable winemakers to obtain precise data from robotic monitoring systems. This will help boost the industry\u2019s productivity levels and foster the implementation of these types of solution\u201d, explained Pepa Sed\u00f3, the Director of Eurecat\u2019s Robotics and Automation Unit.<\/p>\n

The consortium is led by Wageningen Food & Biobased Research and includes a total of 39 organizations and companies specializing in innovation and robotics, drawn from 17 different countries.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
