Los pl\u00e1sticos tradicionales como el polietileno (PE), el poliestireno (PS), el polipropileno (PP) o el policloruro de vinilo (PVC) se degradan muy lentamente en condiciones naturales.<\/p>\n<p>Sin embargo, estudios de la plastisfera (el ecosistema que se forma alrededor de los materiales pl\u00e1sticos) permiten investigar el <strong>potencial de la biodegradaci\u00f3n microbiana de los pol\u00edmeros pl\u00e1sticos<\/strong>, abriendo as\u00ed nuevas v\u00edas para reducir este problema ambiental.<\/p>\n<p>La Unidad de <a href=\"https:\/\/eurecat.org\/es\/ambitos-de-conocimiento\/nutricion-salud\/\">Nutrici\u00f3n y Salud<\/a> de Eurecat utiliza modelos experimentales para evaluar los efectos de los micro- y nanopl\u00e1sticos sobre la salud, adem\u00e1s de identificar microorganismos capaces de biodegradarlos.<\/p>\n<p>Este proyecto se lleva a cabo en colaboraci\u00f3n con el Consorcio MicroWorld, que incluye la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uab.cat\/web\/universitat-autonoma-de-barcelona-1345467954409.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Barcelona<\/a>, la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.utu.fi\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Universidad de Turku<\/a> (Finlandia) y la <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tohoku.ac.jp\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\"
