Este proceso, denominado en el \u00e1mbito cient\u00edfico como biorremediaci\u00f3n, es menos costoso que los tratamientos actuales de este tipo de agua y no requiere personal para su funcionamiento. A su vez, permitir reducir en m\u00e1s de un 80 por ciento los nitratos de las aguas subterr\u00e1neas.<\/p>\n<p>Durante el proyecto se ha instalado una <strong>planta piloto<\/strong> ubicada en Sant Andreu de Llavaneres (Catalu\u00f1a), la cual ha estado en funcionamiento durante dos a\u00f1os con la finalidad de optimizar la soluci\u00f3n InSiTRate y evaluarla desde un punto de vista t\u00e9cnico, econ\u00f3mico y ambiental.<\/p>\n<p>El proyecto InSiTRate ha sido cofinanciado con fondos provenientes de la Comisi\u00f3n Europea en el marco del programa LIFE+, que busca impulsar la aplicaci\u00f3n, la actualizaci\u00f3n y el desarrollo de la pol\u00edtica medioambiental europea.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-clearfix\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><div class=\"fusion-layout-column
