\u201cTechnology and Engineering\u201d teacher from the 1<sup>st<\/sup> year of high school at IES Guadarrama visited <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cenim.csic.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">CENIM-CSIC<\/a> on November 2nd, 2023, to enjoy a day on \u201c<strong>Sustainable metallurgy for a modern society<\/strong>\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>During the day, Ana Santana, partner from <strong>NewAIMS<\/strong>, presented the project to the students and explained what it is about, why it is important or the expected benefits.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, the students enjoyed other talks about topics like <strong>steel production and its importance in society<\/strong>, the <strong>decarbonization<\/strong> of the steel industry and what <strong>additive manufacturing<\/strong> is and what its advantages are.<\/p>\n<p>Afterwards, the talks the kids visited different CENIM-CSIC facilities: the Fab3D additive manufacturing laboratories, the metallography laboratory and the mechanical testing laboratory.<\/p>\n<\/div><div class=\"fusion-image-element \" fusion-text-2\"><p>Within NewAIMS, CENIM-CSIC investigates the relationship among the steel processing, its structure, and its mechanical properties.
