The NewAIMS<\/a> project returned to the Science and Technology Week<\/strong><\/a> organised by the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC)<\/a> for its second consecutive year. Between November 6th and 14th, 2025, the project was featured in the event \u201cThe steel challenge<\/em><\/strong><\/a>\u201d, a series of sessions designed to engage younger generations with advanced metallurgy.<\/p>\n

In this edition, project partners Ana Santana, Guillermo Larrosa, and Nisrine El Hamouchi (CENIM-CSIC), together with researchers from the Materalia Group, welcomed approximately 90 students from the high schools Reggio (Madrid), Marie Curie (Loeches), and Decroly (Madrid).<\/p>\n

The students participated in a specialized talk where they learned about the context and motivations of the NewAIMS project. The sessions focused on the challenges of additive manufacturing in steel and how different compositions are selected for high-performance applications. The attendees also explored the advantages of 3D metal printing compared to conventional methods.<\/p>\n

The activity concluded with a competitive game designed to test their understanding throughout different stations set up around the CENIM building, simulating a real-world steel manufacturing plant.<\/p>\n<\/div>

The Science and Technology Week is the most important initiative for scientific dissemination in many autonomous communities in Spain.<\/p>\n
