The event focused on the full chain of emerging contaminants (CECs), from detection and monitoring to advanced (quaternary) treatment solutions.<\/p>\n<p>Organised within the water sector knowledge platform Tecnoaqua, the session brough together leading experts to discuss the latest technological and analytical developments addressing water quality challenges.<\/p>\n<p>During the conference, Helena P\u00e9rez del Pulgar, representing ACCIONA delivered the presentation <strong><em>\u201cMonitoring of emerging contaminants. Case study: LIFE PRISTINE project\u201d.<\/em><\/strong> The talk focused on the <strong>analytical and monitoring dimension of the project, highlighting the main methodological challenges encountered during the monitoring campaign<\/strong>. These included matrix effects, limits of quantification, and sample stability, key factors that significantly influence the reliability of trace-level contaminant analysis.<\/p>\n<p>The presentation also introduced the objectives and technological approach of the <a href=\"https:\/\/eurecat.org\/portfolio-items\/life-pristine\/\">LIFE PRISTINE project<\/a>, which proposes an integrated solution based on three complementary technologies: nanofiltration, advanced oxidation processes (AOP) and adsorbent materials. This combined treatment train is designed to effectively remove emerging contaminants from both wastewater and drinking water streams.<\/p>\n<p>The participation of ACCIONA in the Tecnoaqua conference highlights the importance of combining advanced analytical methods with innovative treatment technologies to address emerging contaminants in water systems.
