On October 7th, Eurecat organised the joint workshop of the SuPreAM and NewAIMS projects at the CIMNE facilities in Barcelona, dedicated to exploring and advancing the use of high-performance steels in Additive Manufacturing.
The event brought together experts, researchers and professionals from the advanced materials sector, offering a great opportunity to learn first-hand about the latest developments and results achieved within the two European projects. Participants also had the chance to see some demonstrators that illustrated the innovative solutions being developed.
Representing the Metallic and Ceramic Materials Unit of Eurecat, Montse Vilaseca and Eduard Garcia, from the Metallic and Ceramic Materials Unit of Eurecat and coordinators of the SuPreAM and NewAIMS projects respectively, took part as speakers and moderators.

In addition, representatives from both project’s consortiums participated in the workshop sharing technical insights and key findings from ongoing research activities. SuPreAM partners from CIMNE, DRT Group, Luleå University of Technology, Grupo Sevilla Control (GSC), ArcelorMittal and IDONIAL participated in the event together with NewAIMS partners from CENIM-CSIC, INNOMAQ21 and Mid Sweden University (MIUN).
Both SuPreAM and NewAIMS, coordinated by Eurecat and funded under the European Research Fund for Coal and Steel (RFCS), aim to drive the sustainable transformation of the steel industry through the integration of additive manufacturing technologies and innovative post-processing methods designed to enhance material performance and efficiency.
