The Steel4Fatigue project was presented at the 14th edition of the International Fatigue Congress (IFIC14), one of the world’s leading conferences dedicated to fatigue in materials and structures, held from 28 June to 3 July in Madeira, Portugal.
During the conference, project partners from Eurecat (project coordinator), Sidenor and KTH Royal Institute of Technology presented the project’s objectives and ongoing research. Their presentations highlighted Steel4Fatigue’s mission to develop innovative solutions for optimising structural vehicle components through the use of advanced high-strength steels and advanced manufacturing technologies. By enabling lighter, stronger and more durable components, the project aims to improve vehicle performance, enhance energy efficiency and support the transition towards more sustainable mobility.
IFIC14 brought together leading researchers and industry experts from around the world to discuss the latest advances in fatigue science and engineering. The participation of several Steel4Fatigue partners provided an excellent opportunity to disseminate project results, exchange knowledge with the international research community and strengthen collaborations in the field of lightweight, high-performance structural materials.
