Artificial Intelligence

The robotics engine of the future in the era of Industry 5.0

The technology report “The robotics engine of the future in the era of Industry 5.0” provides an overview of the trends and challenges surrounding the adoption of AI in robotics.

Through three research areas (manipulation and perception, mobile robotics, and cognitive robotics) the report examines how Physical Artificial Intelligence is being integrated into the robotics sector, equipping robots with advanced capabilities that enable them to perceive their environment, reason, and act autonomously in dynamic and constantly changing scenarios.

The study presents real-world use cases that demonstrate the impact of this new paradigm on robotic systems, highlights the benefits it brings to industry, and outlines the roadmap for the future of robotics.

Quantum Computing

From emulation to the business application of quantum computing

The report “From emulation to the business application of quantum computing” examines the current state of quantum computing and explains how companies can start working with it without having to wait for quantum advantage to arrive.

The study introduces the fundamentals of quantum computing, from the qubit (the basic unit of quantum information) to the more mature computing models: logic gates, quantum annealing, and hybrid models involving supercomputing. It also examines the applications with the greatest potential for businesses in areas such as optimization, quantum machine learning and solving complex problems through hybrid models.

Through use cases and concrete examples, the report provides an overview of the European and Catalan quantum ecosystem and introduces Eurecat’s QuantIA Lab, a quantum emulation and optimization infrastructure unique in Catalonia. Finally, the report identifies the opportunities, benefits, and challenges quantum computing presents for organizations seeking to explore its potential and position themselves at the forefront of innovation.
