Applied R&D+I projects and technology transfer

More than 16,000 innovation projects and services over the past decade with a real impact on businesses and society

Technological innovation is key to tackling the major economic, social and environmental challenges. At Eurecat we drive applied R&D&I projects to develop new technologies, improve processes and create innovative products and services with an impact on the market and society. One of our strengths is the ability to combine multiple technological disciplines, a key factor in tackling increasingly complex challenges.

Eurecat is one of Europe’s leading technology centres for accelerating innovation in companies with distinctive technological solutions. It supports business innovation from the definition of the challenge to its application in the market.

R&D&I Projects

Applied research projects account for 92% of the centre’s activity and are key to generating in-house technology, transferring knowledge to businesses, and improving the competitiveness of the business ecosystems.

Eurecat participates in and leads European projects in collaboration with companies, technology centres and public institutions, with the aim of addressing technological and social challenges.

These projects contribute to strengthening the European Union’s innovation capacity and generating relevant results for industry and society, as well as laying the foundations for the science and technology of the future.

In this context, Eurecat positions itself as a key agent in European-scale technology transfer, in collaboration with technology centres, SMEs and public bodies.

These projects include a wide variety of fields such as artificial intelligence and data science, quantum computing, digital health, advanced materials, nutrition and health, sustainable chemistry, and autonomous and industrial robotics.

At the national level, we collaborate with companies on R&D&I projects funded through competitive calls from both the State Research Agency (AEI) and the CDTI, as well as on strategic programmes such as the PERTE or ACCIÓ initiatives.

Through these instruments, we drive the development of innovative technological solutions, strengthen business competitiveness and accelerate the transfer of technology to the market.

On the other hand, Eurecat collaborates in the creation of innovative companies, and contributes its expertise in mobilising private investment and improving the national technology balance.
