The Center for Omic Sciences (COS)
The COS is a scientific infrastructure equipped with leading tools and technologies in the fields of metabolomics, proteomics, transcriptomics and genomics, to demonstrate the healthy effect, the mechanisms of action by which it is produced and to move towards personalized nutrition. Despite being owned by the Universitat Rovira i Virgilli, its use is carried out by a mixed R&D&I unit made up of professionals from Eurecat and the URV.
The COS is considered as Singular Scientific and Technical Infrastructure (ICTS) by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities. It constitutes, thus, an experimental tool unique in Spain by his content and his provision, of utility for the Spanish R&D&I system. It is advanced scientifically and technologically, indispensable to realize determinate investigations and / or technological developments, by what its nonexistence represents a limitation or a loss of opportunities for the country, and its construction and / or conservation is a priority and strategic.

The COS science facilities provide useful supportive services for companies and academia. Located at the Centre for RDI on Nutrition and Health (Reus-Spain), we offer scientific advice and support from experimental design prior to omic assessment complete with facilities with in-vitro and in-vivo models and a Human Nutrition Unit available to our clients.
