Aigües de Vic is responsible for water management in the city of Vic and other municipalities in Central Catalonia.
In 2016, it decided to take a technological leap based on a digitalisation roadmap for the company, developed by Eurecat.
In 2022, it created AVENTEC, an engineering and digital solutions company providing innovative urban water cycle management solutions.
Aigües de Vic and Eurecat have led improvements in water cycle management, a critical infrastructure. The technological leap undertaken by Aigües de Vic, with guidance from the technology centre, has enabled them to enhance efficiency, reduce electricity consumption by 13%, and improve hydraulic technical performance by more than 20%.
In the first phase, Aigües de Vic and Eurecat’s consulting team designed a digitalisation roadmap to optimise processes and deliver a better service. The second phase involved creating a data warehouse and developing Business Intelligence tools. Finally, Eurecat’s cybersecurity team conducted a data security audit.
Additionally, AVENTEC and Eurecat have developed Aqua360 platform, a tool that leverages artificial intelligence technologies to predict chlorine decay in the hydraulic network.
