Institut d’Assistència Sanitària and the Eurecat technology centre have inked a partnership agreement to promote joint scientific research and technology development in healthcare. The projects to be fostered under this agreement concern new medical devices, clinical decision-making support tools, artificial intelligence, 3D printing, simulation, digital technology and other activities promoting technology and fostering innovation.
The agreement will also unlock cooperation to back prototyping, running innovation programmes and organising joint activities for the social promotion of research and technology development.
Through the agreement, IAS confirms its commitment to innovation in healthcare and showcases the capabilities of the healthcare business network in Girona province. Eurecat is the leading technology centre in Catalonia and seeks to bring benefits to society and make enterprises more competitive through technology innovation and knowledge generation. Eurecat’s core activities are applied R&D, technology services, technology consultancy, highly specialised training, product and service development and promoting and sharing technological innovation.
Xavier López, Chief Operating and Corporate Officer, and Guillem Quintana, Business Development Director and Eurecat Girona manager, attended the signing of the agreement from Eurecat. IAS was represented by Martí Masferrer, Chair of its Board of Directors, Àngels Morales, Managing Director, and Marc Serra from the IAS and ICS Girona Innovation Unit.
