On June 11, LIFE PRISTINE participated in the online event “From Innovation to Investment: Scaling Nature-based Solutions for a Water-Smart Europe”, organised within the framework of EU Green Week 2026 by the ZeroPollution4Water (ZP4W) Cluster and Water Europe.
Representing the project, Mireia Marcé, project coordinator of LIFE PRISTINE from ACCIONA, delivered the presentation “From Innovation to Water Reuse and Drinking Water Market”. During her intervention, she highlighted the key barriers that often prevent innovative water treatment solutions from moving beyond pilot scale and explained how LIFE PRISTINE is addressing these challenges to facilitate market uptake.
The event brought together policymakers, researchers, practitioners, stakeholders, and representatives of EU-funded projects to discuss how innovative solutions can contribute to Europe’s Zero Pollution ambition and the implementation of the EU Water Resilience Strategy. Participants exchanged knowledge on water pollution prevention, ecosystem restoration, climate adaptation, and opportunities to accelerate investment in sustainable water solutions.
For LIFE PRISTINE, participation in this event provided an excellent opportunity to share barriers and strengths associated with the implementation and scaling up of innovative solutions, strengthen collaboration with other initiatives within the ZeroPollution4Water Cluster, and contribute to the broader discussion on scaling innovative solutions across Europe. The event also showcased the work of AQUAMON, NPower, NIAGARA, D4RUNOFF and Watersens, EU-funded projects working towards cleaner, more resilient, and sustainable water systems.
