Challenge
Removing NOx emissions from combustion plants and incineration facilities is currently expensive and has a significant environmental impact.
Solution
NONOX technology biologically treats NOx from exhaust gases in a two-step process: absorption using a non-aqueous phase liquid (NAP) and bioremediation with denitrifying bacteria that convert it into nitrogen gas (N₂).
Advantages:
- Sustainable: does not use liquid ammonia or urea.
- Low consumables cost: recovers 99% of the NAP.
- Safe: generates only N₂ and small amounts of CO₂.
- Versatile: adaptable to a wide range of combustion facilities.
- Low energy consumption: operates at ambient temperature (25-35°C).
