Cafès Cornellà has innovated with the Eurecat technology centre to push its digitalisation process forward. It includes technologies such as the Internet of Things, advanced data analytics and machine learning to track manufacturing processes and the stages in the hospitality industry right up to the final cup of coffee.
Cafès Cornellà’s digital conversion process is part of the company’s ‘Decoding Coffee’ digitalisation strategy which is to encompass all the stages in its production process from the coffee bean to the cup of coffee drunk by the end consumer.
“The project’s purpose is to harness the full potential of digital technologies across all the stages to safeguard quality and productivity,” says Pere Cornellà, General Manager at Cafès Cornellà.
Lali Soler, the director of Eurecat’s Big Data & Data Science Unit, points out that artificial intelligence and machine learning make it possible to get metrics early on that pave the way to understanding how usage of a product or service evolves. This “enables the company to make more informed decisions about the sales process and the product lifecycle.”
