Barcelona 29, May, 2017Eurecat Technology Center has been accepted by the European Commission as a Key Enabling Technologies (KETs) Technology Center and has been included in the KETs map to help SMEs locate European Technology Centers that can help them to innovate.

To be selected, Eurecat has demonstrated their capacity to collaborate with SMEs helping them to go from the lab to market easily and reducing the time-for-market for new innovation ideas. Eurecat has proofed itself as the main technology partner of companies that operate in Catalonia.

Any public or private organizations carrying out applied research and close-to-market innovation that want to be part of the KETs map have to comply with 3 qualitative criteria: provide services to industry and SMEs, be active in at least one Key Enabling Technology and be active in the higher Technology Readiness Levels.

The European Commission also considers the number of projects with SMEs the center carried out during the past two years, the share of industrial funding of the technology center and the investments that the Center made to create or upgrade equipment for close-to-market activities with industry since 2013.

Eurecat’s KET activites are, among others, smart manufacturing, industry 4.0, robotics, human machine interaction, process industry (processing of novel materials, structures, etc.), high performance computing, cloud-based simulation services, additive manufacturing, high-performance production (flexibility, productivity, precision and zero defect), high-performance, high precision processing, intelligent sensor-based equipment or electronic and optical functional materials.
