The MED4Youth European project, led by the Eurecat technology centre, has picked up second prize at the 15th NAOS Strategy Awards in the category of Healthy Eating in the family and community setting awarded by the Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs.

The NAOS Strategy Awards recognise and raise the profile of programmes, interventions or initiatives whose purposes include helping to prevent obesity by encouraging healthy eating and doing regular physical exercise as part of the NAOS Strategy.

The project is the first nutritional intervention study to evaluate the effects of a Mediterranean diet-based dietary intervention against obesity in teenagers across several countries with a view to encouraging and helping this population segment to adopt healthy habits.
