The merger between the CTM Foundation, headquartered in Manresa, and Eurecat was officially entered into the Government of Catalonia’s Register of Foundations on 11 December 2018, having been approved by the respective boards of trustees of both organizations on 28 September. The merger consolidates Eurecat’s position as one of the largest technology centres in Southern Europe.
Eurecat Manresa will bring together the technology centre’s key competences and experience in the fields of sustainability, metals and ceramics, and process-modelling and simulation. In the words of Eurecat President Xavier Torra, “the full integration of these competences and knowledge with the rest of Eurecat’s technological aptitudes will undoubtedly generate major synergies. It also means that, from our base in Manresa, we can offer firms more complete technological solutions and reach local companies that have not worked with us until now”.
According to Francesc Santasusana, the Vice President of CTM, the three-year period of functional integration between Eurecat and CTM “has not only been very positive, but has also allowed us to lay a foundation so that the merger is implemented in a more natural manner. The aim is to begin a new chapter in which we improve and grow in terms of resources, capacities and scope, and also in terms of our profile within the business world, so that we can help companies become more competitive”.
