Mobile World Capital Barcelona and the Eurecat technology centre have inked a partnership agreement to jointly back projects and initiatives designed to unlock technological innovation in business in areas such as health, mobility and Industry 4.0.
The agreement was signed by Carlos Grau, CEO of Mobile World Capital Barcelona, and Xavier López, Eurecat’s Chief Operating and Corporate Officer. “This understanding cements the close and long-standing partnership between the two organisations which has already made it possible to plan and deliver high-impact projects and initiatives,” said Xavier López.
“This agreement will allow us to pursue our commitment to innovation as a driver of technological, economic and social transformation by working in tandem with a world-class international technology centre,” commented Carlos Grau. The agreement envisages systematic teamwork in technology innovation, training, entrepreneurship, technological humanism (Digital Future Society) and international R&D projects.
Working with The Collider entrepreneurship programme
One of the first actions under the agreement is the partnership between tech start-up accelerator The Collider and Eurecat to spur technological entrepreneurship and development and setting up, mentoring and supporting science-based start-ups with disruptive technologies, especially in health and wellness, mobility and the connected car, energy and Industry 4.0.
The technology centre is to spearhead technology validation of pre-selected entrepreneurial projects in the annual The Collider programme call. It will additionally deliver technology services including trials, validation and pilot testing and prototype design and development to fast-track their industrial scale-up and will also support publicity for The Collider programme.
