Development and demonstration of advanced membrane materials for pervaporation, gas separation and membrane distillation technologies, setting the basis for future commercialisation of greener technological pathways all along the value chain.
By using advanced tools and by taking a holistic approach, MEASURED tackles the sustainability challenges of the chemical industry coming from waste streams, water footprints, energy efficiency and industrial emissions.
MEASURED includes thorough multiscale modelling and simulation techniques, including a full Life Cycle Assessment, and addresses the societal implications to increase the acceptance and further market readiness.
Eurecat participates in the MEASURED project through their Water, Air and Soil (WAS) and Waste, Energy and Environmental Impact (WEEI) Units, in charge of:
- Evaluating the lifetime and end-of-life recyclability studies on the different membrane materials.
- Assessing the developed membranes in terms of selectivity and permeability for water and target compounds, respectively
- Analysing the new technologies of the project solutions, based on LCA and Social-LCA approaches.
The interdisciplinary consortium of MEASURED is made up of 17 partners from seven European countries, consisting of eight universities and research centres, seven companies and two SMEs.
