Carmaker SEAT has kicked off its Industry 4.0 Academy training programme in partnership with the Eurecat technology centre’s Eurecat Academy specialist training service for professionals and the University of Barcelona’s IL3 Institute for Lifelong Learning.
This is a pilot smart factory education project for production line workers designed to equip them with the skills they need to tackle the new technological challenges in their jobs in the future through their digital conversion and retraining. Plus on successfully completing the programme they get a university extension certificate which they can add to their CVs.
Eighty workers have taken part in the pilot programme which consists of five modules: Digital Factories, Manufacturing Technologies, Electric Mobility, Industrial Organisation and Soft Skills. After completing the first module in May, the students are now taking the second which will finish in late July.
