The NewAIMS consortium held its General Assembly online on 22 September to review the status of the work and agree on the priorities for the final year of the project, which researches strategies to obtain cost-effective, high-performance steels through additive manufacturing with integrated heat treatments.
Partners shared the progress of each work package, from the design of the new steel compositions and the printing strategies that shape their microstructure, through to the tests that measure how the material performs. The meeting also set the roadmap for the coming months, with the industrial demonstrator as the main challenge ahead. The consortium will meet again face-to-face in Krakow, where it will present its main achievements at the MSIA 2026 conference.
NewAIMS is a collaboration between the Eurecat Technology Centre, which coordinates the project, CENIM-CSIC, AMAZEMET, Mid Sweden University and INNOMAQ21.
