Innovative collaborative initiative among three leading Spanish technological centres in the field of quantum computing.
The ARQA project advances research and development of quantum applications for the business sector, thereby tackling challenges that traditional computing cannot currently resolve.
The Cervera ARQA Network, formed by the Technological Center for Information and Communication Foundation (CTIC), Eurecat, and ITG, constitutes a joint effort to boost the transfer of quantum technologies to businesses, fostering a national level collaboration that facilitates the integration of these advanced technologies into the business fabric, and thereby, into society.
This project not only seeks to achieve a direct impact on the economy and business competitiveness through technological development but also to promote training, attract talent, and strengthen the international presence of the centres participating in this emerging technological field.
The strategic program is structured around six strategic objectives that encompass scientific and technological excellence, active communication, effective technology transfer, availability of specialized talent, and international positioning.
These objectives are realized through various activities, including the development of a common technological roadmap, specialized training, talent attraction, and participation in international networks and collaborations.
This ambitious program not only anticipates a paradigm shift in tackling complex industrial challenges but also stands as a catalyst for innovation, collaboration, and sustainable development within the Spanish technological and business ecosystem, and potentially, on a global scale.
Eurecat involves different Technological Units in the ARQA network, in charge of the following tasks:
- Quantum Computing: leadership and coordination by Eurecat.
- Audiovisual Technologies: responsible for the satellite image classification use case and quantum reinforcement learning research.
- Applied Artificial Intelligence (AAI): research on quantum optimization problems and the energy optimization demonstrator.
- Digital Health: research into image classification using quantum algorithms.
- Robotics and Automation: research into optimization problems and quantum reinforcement learning algorithms
- IT&OT Security: research in post-quantum cryptography and quantum key distribution algorithms
- Big Data & Data Science: research into quantum optimization problems and the energy optimization demonstrator.
