Fair transition for the fashion sector.
Just Fashion drives the climate transition in the fashion industry, promoting circular, sustainable, inclusive and resilient business models.
With the collaboration of several European regions and actors, the project prepares companies in the sector for the demands of the Green Deal, transforming their production methods, internal processes and end products towards more sustainable practices.
The main objectives of the project are:
- Research and innovation: Generate practical and transferable knowledge through six pilots to accelerate the transformation of the fashion sector.
- Sustainability and circular economy: Promote sustainable and circular practices to reduce emissions, minimise waste and optimise the use of resources.
- Transformation of business models: Develop sustainable, circular, inclusive and resilient business models, adapted to new policy frameworks.
- Alignment with policies and regulations: Help SMEs comply with climate and sustainability regulations while maintaining their competitiveness.
- Social and economic inclusion: Ensuring that the transition to a circular economy is fair and inclusive for all communities.
Just Fashion supports the climate transition of SMEs by creating a specific Sustainability Index for the fashion industry. This index, implemented through a digital platform, offers knowledge and capabilities to improve the efficiency of business processes.
Eurecat leads, through its Technology Consultancy Unit and with the support of the Climate Solutions and Ecosystem Services (CLIMSES) Unit, the development of transition and climate resilience plans for the fashion industry, analysing the potential climate risks of each pilot with a vision of mitigation and adaptation. It also supports the design of new circular business models. In addition, the Functional Textiles Unit accompanies one of the pilots to validate textile recycling technologies at the end of the useful life of the garments.
The Just Fashion consortium is made up of 20 partners from eight different European countries.
