On December 9th, the Steel4Fatigue project was featured in the webinar Advancing AM: Fatigue and Microstructure insights, organised in collaboration with the European projects FatSAM and ALABAMA.

The webinar brought together experts from research and industry to discuss the latest developments in additive manufacturing, fatigue behaviour, and microstructure optimisation.

Sergi Parareda, project coordinator and researcher at the Metallic and Ceramic Materials unit of Eurecat, delivered the presentation titled “Characterisation methods to shorten fatigue testing and improve materials understanding”, showcasing the main achievements of Steel4Fatigue project, presenting innovative methodologies designed to accelerate fatigue testing and deepen the understanding of material behaviour.

The event also featured presentations from representatives of TÜBİTAK, introducing the FatSAM project, and SINTEF, presenting the ALABAMA project, as well as a contribution from Prof. Cemal Basaran from the University at Buffalo as a key invited speaker.

Steel4Fatigue, coordinated by Eurecat and funded by the Research Fund for Coal and Steel (RFCS), aims to develop fatigue-optimised solutions for dynamic automotive components by introducing new materials and technologies that contribute to reducing the weight of trucks and cars.
