COOPHS coordinator Jaume Pujante, head of the Line of New Processes for Advanced Materials of the Metallic and Ceramic Materials Unit of Eurecat, has presented the project main objective and research outputs expected of the project to SALEMA partners and European Commission monitors.
This dissemination activity has been held during SALEMA project review meeting, celebrated in Eurecat’s facilities in Manresa on June 26, 2024. The meeting has included a showcase of several components developed within SALEMA project with recycled aluminum, as well informative leaflets and components of other related projects also working on the development of more sustainable metals for the automotive industry.
The SALEMA project combined the strategies of decreasing the use of critical raw materials and creating a sustainable economy in the aluminium manufacturing industry of Europe. SALEMA developed and put into practice a circular economy model that integrates scrap aluminium materials into the process of manufacturing aluminium car parts. This circular economy will lead to a more sustainable industry and less dependence on imports from outside the EU.
