Promotion of the Catalan artificial intelligence ecosystem through the organization of territorial engagement events, technology transfer activities, and the connection between business, technology, and innovation.
The CAT-AI project promotes the organization of events aimed at disseminating the main challenges faced by artificial intelligence (AI), emerging trends, best practices from pioneering Catalan companies, and applied AI use cases. The initiative was created with the aim of communicating the range of initiatives and opportunities related to AI being developed in Catalonia within the framework of the Catalonia AI Strategy 2030.
The project aims to accelerate the advanced digital technologies sector, particularly AI, by increasing the national and international impact and recognition of Catalan SMEs and start-ups in the field, while also strengthening cooperation within the digital ecosystem to promote technology transfer, foster strategic collaborations, and attract digital investment and talent.
In this context, CAT-AI develops a map of innovation opportunities linked to initiatives such as Catalonia.AI, CIDAI and DIH4CAT, as well as the specific capabilities of Eurecat in the field of AI.
It also promotes the event series “Bringing AI closer to the territory: Applied AI as a driver of innovation and transformation”, which has held four sessions across Catalonia during February 2026 in La Seu d’Urgell, Tortosa, Girona and Lleida.
These events, aimed at the main economic sectors of the territory, such as agriculture, food, machinery and services, have sought to disseminate initiatives and opportunities related to AI, foster networking and strengthen the visibility of the Catalan AI ecosystem.
The programme has been structured around the presentation of related opportunities, a keynote lecture, the presentation of use cases, and a panel discussion with experts and local companies to promote collaboration and technology transfer.
The project has involved Eurecat, through the Activities and Brand Experience unit, together with i2CAT and with the collaboration of the Digital Catalonia Alliance (DCA).
