The EXORAPI projects aims to develop, implement, and validate a walking EXOskeleton for use in children affected by Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. The objective is to improve their quality of life and delay the decline of their physical condition.

The team in charge of developing the project is made up of a multi-disciplinary consortium which together gathers all the scientific knowledge necessary in the field of engineering and medicine to design a paediatric exoskeleton that may be used as an alternative to physiotherapy in children with serious neuromuscular diseases.

A project financed by the MINISTRY OF ECONOMY, INDUSTRY AND COMPETITIVENESS and by the European Union, as part of the Challenges-Collaboration tender under the State Investigation, Development and Innovation Programme for Challenges in Society. This forms part of the 2013-2016 State Science, Technical and Innovation Plan, the mission of which is to foster technological development and quality innovation.
