Artificial intelligence-based technological platform for the optimization of the perioperative process in cardiovascular surgery
OPTIMUS develops a digital platform based on artificial intelligence to improve the quality of life of patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery. The solution integrates advanced digital health technologies, predictive analytics and clinical decision support systems (DSS) for personalized surgical planning and postoperative monitoring.
The platform enables improved preoperative preparation, reduces postoperative complications and supports faster recovery, contributing to shorter hospital stays and greater healthcare system efficiency.
The system addresses the entire perioperative process (before, during and after surgery) in an integrated manner, going beyond the traditional approach focused solely on prehabilitation and rehabilitation.
The project includes the development and technical validation as a Class IIa medical device, with a view to its use in a clinical trial in a real hospital setting.
Currently, no solution on the market offers such comprehensive integration of the perioperative process combining prehabilitation and rehabilitation, positioning OPTIMUS as an innovative proposal in the field of surgery and hospital management.
OPTIMUS is led by Doole Health, a company specialized in digital health solutions and remote patient monitoring. The consortium includes Eurecat and the Fight Infections Foundation (FLI).
Within this framework, Eurecat’s Digital Health technological unit contributes to the development of the AI-based platform and to the application of digital health technologies and clinical decision support systems to optimize perioperative management.
