The Territorial Competitiveness Specialization Project (PECT in its acronym in Spanish) is the materialization of multiple strategies in Mataró city and Maresme region for the transformation of the territory through the construction of an intelligent, sustainable and inclusive economic growth model.
The PECT of Mataró Maresme is aligned with two priority axes of the FEDER Catalonia Operative Programme 2014-2020, which respond, on the one hand, to promoting research, technological development and innovation, and, on the other hand, improving the competitiveness of SMEs.
The PECT has two major sectorial actions: the textile, with the REIMAGINE TEXTILE project and sports and tourism, with the SPORTS AND TOURISM project, two areas that due to their significant presence in the Maresme area can be engines to generate economic growth and innovation.
The project is coordinated by the City Council of Mataró and counts with the participation of the the TecnoCampus Foundation Mataró-Maresme, Eurecat, the City Council of Calella. In addition, it counts with the collaboration of the Consell Comarcal del Maresme, the Association of the Textile Business Maresme Group (ASEGMA) and other 15 municipalities. Eurecat, as beneficiary party, participates in the Reimagine Textile project, leading the operations of Maresme Innovates – Tech & Talent, for the creation of an innovative ecosystem that articulates training initiatives and the transfer of technological knowledge, and the Impulse Reimagine Textile operation, which aims to create a network and develop the Reimagine Textile brand.
