Revolutionising data management across industries with advanced AI.

PLIADES advances the state of the art in data space reference architectures, driving a significant shift in the use of data as a key enabler of technological progress in artificial intelligence and robotics. The project explores innovative AI-enabled tools to support full lifecycle integration of data, both within and across data spaces.

PLIADES incorporates sustainable data creation methods—compression, filtering, and normalisation—enabling efficient and greener data storage. It reinforces data privacy and sovereignty using standards and decentralised protocols. Data sharing is revolutionised through AI-based brokers and connectors using extended metadata shaped by best practices and expert knowledge.

With active data discovery services and cross-domain AI connectors, PLIADES creates linked data spaces that foster interoperability between previously disconnected entities. In addition, services such as real-time data quality assessment services are also introduced, engaging partners collaboration in the platform.

Results are validated across six use cases addressing the advancement of AI and robotics technologies for everyday applications in mobility, healthcare, industry, energy, and the green deal. These use cases provide a demanding validation environment involving heterogeneous data and full data lifecycles across key domains. The developed ecosystem enhances technologies such as CCAM and ADAS/AD, redefines human-robot interaction for operators and patients, and deploys advanced data spaces to reduce carbon footprints and contribute to a more sustainable future.

Eurecat takes part in the PLIADES project through different technological units:

  • The IT&OT Security Unit leads and supports data security, privacy, traceability, identity and regulatory governance tasks in highly heterogeneous contexts (mobility, health, energy).
  • The Big Data & Data Science Unit focuses on distributed architectures, their design and support for data improvement.
  • The Applied Artificial Intelligence (AAI) Unit works on the design of infrastructures, data models and reusable artificial intelligence models.
