The SuPreAM project continues to share its latest research and innovations with the global scientific community. On September 21 and 22, 2026, the project was presented at the 3rd International Conference on Materials Science and Engineering, held in Budapest, Hungary.

Montserrat Vilaseca represented the SuPreAM team, delivering a keynote presentation to an audience of international experts. Her talk, titled “Optimizing Finishing Processes for Additively Manufactured C300 Steel in Injection Moulding Tools,” detailed the project’s most recent work.

Specifically, the presentation focused on the optimization of finishing processes for 3D-printed C300 steel. These advancements are key to improving the surface quality, durability, and overall efficiency of injection moulding tools created through additive manufacturing.

Through these innovations, the SuPreAM project is working to elevate the surface integrity of machined and 3D-printed steel components. A core goal is to cut manufacturing costs across the steel industry by actively reducing material scrap and eliminating unnecessary re-processing steps during final production.
