AGED EURECAT

A digital system capable of analysing frail patient health data and developing an underlying health index using machine learning.

The AGED project develops a solution based on software as a service (SAAS) that provides a single multivariate reading interpretation of the evolution of the mobility of a frail patient.

This solution, called Ephion Vitality, integrates multiple sensors and variables thanks to machine learning systems to determine the efficacy of new treatments and the results of ongoing clinical trials in the field of frailty and associated health conditions and comorbidities.

The new platform is intended to assess the functional status of elderly patients with signs of frailty, as well as to analyse and prevent their risk of falling, making it possible to monitor the functional status of patients in an easy, effective and objective manner using an innovative digital indicator.

The evolution towards a gradual ageing of the population implies that the percentage of people in a state of frailty will increase to a great extent, making a tool necessary to assess the evolution of functional impairment in frail patients.

Eurecat participates in the AGED project through its Digital Health Unit, in charge of data analysis to relate functional assessment data to the risk of falling in fragile patients.

AGED is led by Eurecat’s spin-off Ephion Health and also counts with the participation of the Quirón Salud hospital group.
