DIVERSIFY-CCAM EURECAT

Promotion of citizen-friendly mobility.

The Diversify-CCAM project promotes fair and accessible mobility in European regions by integrating cultural, geographical, and policy aspects into the design, development, and implementation of cooperative, connected, and automated mobility (CCAM) solutions.

The project unveils the diverse social contexts that influence the acceptance, adoption, and utilization of CCAM and the main challenges hindering the effectiveness of shared services, especially in regions with unique geographical and cultural demands.

The project hosts 12 pilot sites dedicated to data collection and evaluation of the mobility of people within urban environments equipped with existing CCAM solutions and the mixed transport (people and small goods) solutions within rural or touristic areas primarily reliant on private cars. The initiative engages various user groups and stakeholders at the local level, extending their involvement to the European and international spheres.

The project implements a CCAM Diversification Tool (CCAM D-Tool) for transportation planners and a CCAM Diversity Observatory for the entire CCAM value chain, focusing on achieving inclusiveness and equity within the European mobility ecosystem.

Eurecat participates in Diversify-CCAM through its Big Data & Data Science Unit, which runs a pilot in the city of Barcelona and is responsible for an intersectional analysis of the adoption of CCAM, and the Consultancy Department, advancing an impact framework for assessing equity based on cultural, geographic, and political factors in CCAM adoption from multiple perspectives, and developing forecasting scenarios toward the transition to CCAM-enabled mobility equity.

The Diversify consortium is made up of 15 organisations from seven different countries involving a multidisciplinary team with expertise in transportation, mobility, data science, and innovation consultancy.

Related ODS

Study of the main difficulties related to cultural and geographical factors related to the adoption of CCAM. The results will facilitate a more efficient implementation of this type of mobility.

The identification of the main cultural and geographical factors that cause inequalities in the use of CCAM technologies will allow a more equitable deployment by the different groups.

The widespread adoption of CCAM means of transport will improve the efficiency of mobility and allow the reduction of emissions of polluting gases related to transport.
