Training course in printed electronics.
The MAV-PEC4ALL_2 project offered a training course to provide an introductory and practical approach on the knowledge of printed electronics, from the materials and the different printing techniques to the application of the technology and implementation guidance personalised for each student.
This course, 100% funded, was the result of the need detected by research centers, technology centers and institutions specialised in printed and flexible electronics in relation to the lack of knowledge of this technological area and its potential for integration into products and new applications thanks to its transversality.
The course, taught from March to July 2024 with the participation of 44 companies, lasted 82 hours with an online and semi-face-to-face format in the Barcelona area. It consisted of six modules where contents on materials, printing techniques or applications of printed electronics, among others, were taught.
Printed electronics is a technology that allows printing directly on different flexible substrates, electronic components, conductive tracks, sensors and circuits. It is an enabling technology that has enormous potential to cover the holes that conventional electronics currently have, especially from the perspective of creating new products and new solutions from advanced materials.
Eurecat participated in the training offer through its Functional Printing and Embedded Systems Unit with the teaching of the content of module 5 of the course “Applications of printed electronics. From Lab to Fab”.
The project was coordinated by the Advanced Materials Cluster of Catalonia (MAV) and, aside from Eurecat, was collaborated by Leitat, the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), the Institute of Microelectronics of Barcelona (IMB-CNM) and the Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona (ICMAB-CSIC), all of them members of the MAV Cluster.
