EMISIONES EURECAT

Improvement proposals for the production of solid biofuels to increase their quality and reduce the impact of their emissions.

The EMISSIONS project generates knowledge of the emissions derived from the combustion of Aleppo pine and vine branches in order to be able to give recommendations and qualities of solid biofuel that minimise the impact derived from the emissions generated in the combustion process.

The other objective of the project is to establish which innovative production mechanisms or processes should be applied by the companies producing these biofuels.

On the one hand, the project generates data on the quality of emissions of different compounds resulting from the combustion of chips under controlled and parameterized conditions, for different combustion conditions and fuel characteristics, for the species commercialized in Catalonia.

On the other hand, EMISSIONS proposes new chip production processes that allow reducing the emissions of unwanted compounds.

The consortium is made up of the La Granada cooperative and the BOSCAT company. Eurecat is the provider of knowledge and participates in it through its Waste, Energy and Environmental Impact Unit (WEEI). The project is coordinated by the Catalonia Bioenergy Cluster (CBC).
